THANKSGIVING

ON the last thursday of NOVEMBER

In 1621, the Pilgrim Fathers ( the first British immigrants to America)

had a Thanksgiving party to thank God for their first crop ( récolte).

Every year, on the fourth Thursday of November, American families get

together to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The traditional meal is composed of foods native to the New World:

roasted turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce, dumplings, potatoes,

corn, pumpkin pie.
