1) IF+présent/WILL+BV

2) IF +preterit /WOULD +BV

3) IF+PLUPERFECT/WOULD +HAVE+PART.PASSE

EXEMPLES:

IF+présent                 / WILL+BV:

If  I win a lot of money, I’ll buy a nice house.  

condition  réalisable

IF+preterit                /WOULD+BV:

If I won a lot of money, I would buy a nice house.

irréel du présent condition  peu réalisable

IF+pluperfect                    /WOULD+HAVE+PART.PASSE:

If I had won a lot of money, I would have bought a nice house.

irréel du passé condition irréalisable

Bien évidemment le degré de certitude diminue! avec “ I would have bought” celui qui parle estime que les chances de réalisation de cette action sont très faibles.
